overview

dawn operates dawn.show (the website) and the dawn android tv app. this page describes what data is collected across both platforms and how it is used.

website - account data

when you create an account on dawn.show, your name and email address are collected. this information is stored securely and used to manage your account, process subscriptions, and send transactional emails (verification, password reset).

website - payment processing

payments are processed by stripe. your credit card details are not stored by dawn. stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data. your stripe customer id is stored to manage your subscription.

website - cookies

the website uses essential cookies for authentication (session management). no third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies are used.

website - email

transactional emails (verification, password reset) are sent via resend. no marketing emails are sent unless you explicitly opt in.

android tv app

the dawn android tv app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. no account is required and no login exists.

the following preferences are saved locally on your device only (never transmitted). this data is deleted when you uninstall the app:

• audio volume preferences
• ambient music on/off state and volume
• watch progress per video
• first-launch welcome flag

third-party services

both platforms use the following services to operate:

• mux - video hosting and streaming
• bunny - video delivery (cdn)
• sanity - content management

website only:

• stripe - payment processing
• resend - transactional email
• neon - database hosting
• goatcounter - privacy-focused analytics

video cdn providers (mux, bunny) may collect standard technical data (ip address, device type) as part of delivering video content.

analytics and advertising

the website uses goatcounter, a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not use cookies or collect personal data. the android tv app contains no analytics, advertising, or crash reporting tools of any kind.

children

dawn does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. the android tv app is rated everyone / pegi 3 and collects no data from any user.

data sharing

dawn does not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties, except through the service providers listed above which are necessary to operate the platform.

data retention

account data on dawn.show is retained for as long as your account is active. you may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting hi@dawn.show. the android tv app stores no data remotely - uninstalling the app removes all local data.

changes

if new features require collecting additional personal data, this policy will be updated before those features launch.
